Welcome November!
It’s such a wonderful time of the year – thankfulness, gratitude, family, friends, and lovely gatherings. It’s also a very busy month as the Holiday season is beginning. Along with Thanksgiving and a few gatherings, this month Kevin and I celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary, Coltan turns 16 and Jason and Emma have birthdays too! So many things to be thankful for and lots of things to do! Here’s how I prepare so that things aren’t overwhelming and I can truly enjoy every moment!
November To Do List:
- Plan Thanksgiving table setting and get decorations ready.
- Plan Thanksgiving Menu and Guest List.
- Prepare for a well stocked beverage station.
- Restock supplies for entertaining such as paper products, disposable plates and utensils.
- Have plenty of disposable freezer to oven safe containers and storage containers.
- Get pantry, fridge and freezer in order.
- Clean, decorate and prepare guest areas and linen closets
- Clean Coat/Entry Closets
- Make shopping list and purchase non perishables & paper products.
- Prepare and freeze make ahead Thanksgiving recipes.
- Refresh and organize game closet.
I try to have all of the above completed before the week of Thanksgiving so that I can focus on preparing the Thanksgiving meal! Beginning the day after Thanksgiving I will do the following:
- Gather all gift wrapping supplies and purchase needed items; paper, tissue, ribbon, tape, bows , boxes etc.
- Purchase or design Christmas Cards and buy stamps.
- Check to see what gifts are ready for wrapping and make list of gifts to purchase and begin shopping!
- Decorate for Christmas
