Happy Tuesday! It’s hard to believe, but there are just two weeks until Christmas! It’s been busy around here with Christmas shopping, wrapping presents, baking cookies, and taking a few precious moments to enjoy the wonder and beauty of the Holiday season and pondering it’s precious meaning!
A great help for me is to keep my to do list handy, checking things off and adding a few reminders along the way. It really does help to keep things running smoothly so I can enjoy this special time of year!
Here’s is my to do list for December (some are already completed and have been in progress since black Friday!)
- Decorate for Christmas
- Gather all gift wrapping supplies and purchase paper, tissue, ribbon, tape, etc.
- Purchase or design Christmas cards and buy stamps
- Review list of gifts to purchase and/or make
- Plan Christmas Table setting and get things in order
- Plan Christmas and New Years Menu
- Take inventory of freezer, pantry and fridge
- Restock beverages and stock up on crackers, cheese, goodies and treats
- Prepare and freeze a few delicious meals
- Bake cookies and make sugared pecans
- Address and Mail Christmas cards and ship packages
Several days to a week before Christmas I work on these items:
- Purchase grocery items and ice
- Set table, fill salt and pepper shakers
- Thaw out any make ahead dishes from the freezer
- Prepare appropriate dishes one to two days before Christmas day
- Last minute cleaning and tidying up
With simply having a plan, I can truly enjoy Christmas shopping and fun family activities throughout the month!
How do you plan for the Holidays?
