Uncluttered. An uncluttered home and life are worth every bit of effort.
Whatever is holding you back, bringing you down, causing distraction – launch it. It could be stuff, over-commitments, or excess negative thoughts. Whatever it is stop now and launch it.
Uncluttered
Being free from the messy excess is the way to a full and beautiful and abundant life. Not perfect. Just simply abundant.
I write this post for all who want to start now. Who want results.
From a beautiful home where you can raise a family, make memories, and welcome friends, to an abundant life where you can live out what is most meaningful and precious to you and to be fully present for others.
When there is an intentional balance between the things that take up our time, attention, and care we can live! This is abundance.
I want that, do you?

The question I’m most frequently asked is “how to begin, where do I start”?
Where to start?
I can help you with that.
Although the “messy” looks different for each one of us, the process remains the same.
The first step is mindset.
Cleaning up a mess and decluttering is hard work. Physically, emotionally and mentally. It takes effort. A lot of effort. And it takes commitment. Resolved commitment to keep pushing through.
So, I ask all who join this journey to prepare yourself and get excited for that first completed task. It’s worth it and that first accomplishment is priceless!
The next step is starting.
The whole process begins with taking your first step. You have to start where it is best for you and your current situation. Each one of us has different needs and those needs will determine the starting point.
For those who follow along and tune in, I’m hopeful that all I can share will prove helpful to you and your family.
Not only because of what I’ve learned through the experience and blessing of being welcomed and invited into hundreds of homes over the past 16 years, but mostly from the very personal experience of having my first apartment, being married for 29 years, moving 10 times, raising a family of 4 incredible sons and now, so quickly approaching, a new season of life – the “empty nest”.
Therefore, I ask you what is most pressing and causing the most pain? What are your goals? What is your time frame? Are there major events happening or soon to be happening?
If you feel it’s the whole house, start with a counter in your kitchen. Start small. Accomplish one task. If it’s toys that have taken over your entire house, gather them all together and make some tough decisions about what stays, where they will be stored and set clear boundaries. If it’s digital, clear out your “inbox”. Delete the junk, unsubscribe, and process the important. If paper is out of control, start with what’s in your mail box today. Discard the junk, act on anything that can be handled right away, and put the rest in a safe place to be dealt with asap. If you’re getting ready to move, start in your storage areas.
Most importantly, start. Start with one counter, one drawer, one closet, one piece of paper and complete it.
Finally, be consistent and willing to adapt to change.
Make this a lifestyle. Get into a good daily rhythm by creating excellent habits and setting up systems that keep things from getting out of hand. In doing so, you will free up so much precious time to do the things that matter most and to be able to be fully engaged in what is most meaningful and important.
This is where you can live life fully. To be happy with yourself and present for others.
